Individual Mentoring Sessions

Tired of Talking???

Let our horses do the talking!
EAP may be the perfect short term solution for clients who are “stuck” or not responding to a traditional therapeutic office setting.  At Bit of Hope Ranch, our licensed therapist and equine specialist harness the natural healing power of horses to allow clients to discover solutions to many problems such as: anxiety,       self-regulation, depression, eating disorders, relationship dynamics, trauma and many other challenges.  While working with the horses using an experiential model, clients discover their personal hope and healing.

EAL sessions are "goal focused" programs structured for individuals or groups once a week.  Each group focuses on a different theme such as:  work ethic, respect, anger, body image, responsibility, goal setting, etc. Cowboy Trails is the latest program that interwines the Code of the West with Life Skills needed today. Working with the horses provides many opportunities for youth to discover the answers to many of life's challenges.   Interactive games played with mazes, balls, challenges, and other fun tools help to reinforce the lesson.  Our goal is that "lessons learned in the arena will be lived out in life".

Individual Mentoring Sessions are designed to meet a child's specific needs.  These kids often come from a background of abuse or neglect.  Some suffer from issues such as anger, low self-confidence, and relational problems.   A team of one child, one horse and one mentor work together for 60 minutes once a week.  Ranch chores and projects help teach responsibility and work ethic.  Part of the hour is spent working directly with a horse to learn skills such as:  catching, grooming, saddling, playing games online, riding, etc.
